A lot of people expected a lot of things of Rainbow & Rooted. After 100% No Feeble Cheering, which was primarily extraordinarily loud and ranged from terrible, repetitive dubstep that hinged on trying to be catchy (16 NOCAB), too good, power epics (Dregs of a Bitter Cup), people wanted simply an improvement on the last album.

Even after multiple announcements that R&R would not be restricted to about two genres, this seems to have remained as expected. To dissapointment, in a few cases.

So in a startling turn of events, the summer in the usually overcast land of England has been, for the last few days, rather sunny. Lucky for me, I caught a cold going on Tuesday.

I caught a cold most likely from being on the tube station in London. I was in London to see an artist perform at a concert.

Said artist was Lindsey Stirling. Now if you know the name, you've either been to her concerts or you're feeling extraordinarily jealous (which provides me with sustenance). Lemme tell you, it was incredible. Well we were waiting around doing nothing for a total of about two hours during the concert waiting for acts, and two hours before that waiting in line (we were pretty close up thanks to being early). But apart from that, it was absolutely mental.

There are many occasions when I am told someone or other has hit an artistic block, or is looking for pointers to improve.
I like to extend a helping hand where I can, and I can write many paragraphs if I don't keep myself in check. And it's not just about correcting and providing, as I always have to judge that person's character and weight my response so it's effective enough (cutting for people who prefer bluntness, quickly for impatient people, gentle and guiding with people who are new to the scene, that kinda thing).

So usually, when I can't do all that quite so well, I resort to my tried and tested mantra of 'Find a tutorial'. dA has a good collection, but they're not that extensive.
